High Performance Computing Group
The High Performance Computing Group in the Department of Computer Science at UCT.
The High Performance Computing group is a loose association of three academics in the department who do research in the broad area of High Performance Computing:
Prof. James Gain, Assoc. Prof. Michelle Kuttel and
Assoc. Prof. Patrick Marais
The group applies parallel and high performance computing, especially GPU-acceleration, and visualisation methods to different domain areas, such as computer graphics (Gain and Marais), visual effects and virtual reality (Gain), computer games (Gain and Marais), computer vision (Marais), astronomy (Gain, Marais and Kuttel) and computational chemistry (Kuttel).
