Global Game Jam 2013
The 5th annual Global Game Jam (GGJ) took place at 321 venues across 63 countries on the weekend of the 25th January. The global Game Jam is a 48 hour game development event - participants have a weekend to create a game based on a theme released when the event starts. The Computer Science department has hosted the Cape Town event since the inception of the GGJ in 2009 and was the first site in Africa.
This year, 34 people took part, creating 9 digital games and 1 board game. A large contingent of UCT Computer Science students (past and present) participated and contributed to the many excellent games produced.
