Zubeida Khan wins IOS Press prize for journal article
University of Cape Town PhD student Zubeida Khan is the main author of the paper An empirically-based framework for ontology modularization that was awarded a $1000 prize from IOS Press for being selected for publication in the 10th anniversary special issue of the (ISI-indexed) Applied Ontology journal.
The paper is co-authored by her supervisor, Dr. Maria Keet, and reports on a literature review of modularizing ontologies elucidating modularization characteristics, an empirical assessment of characteristics of ontology modules, and a framework for modularising ontologies based on that.
