UCT takes first place in Standard Bank IT Challenge
A team of four UCT students have won the 2013 Standard Bank IT Challenge for universities, narrowly beating Stellenbosch.
Kosie van der Merwe, Graham Manuell, Mary Hsu and Gwylim Ashley, all current or former Computer Science students, each won a laptop, and UCT won R170000. The team solved all seven problems in the challenging 6-hour contest, held at Standard Bank headquarters in Johannesburg on 21 August.
